Gilt Panel Work in Progress

Work in progress photographs for a traditionally constructed gilt panel painting (albeit with a very nontraditional subject.)  In order of Top Left to Bottom Right: Initial design, panel prior to gilding (unfortunately, the artist does not have pictures of the intermediate stages,) after the first layer of gold leaf, after the final layer of gold leaf, after the first layer of paint, and after the second layer of paint.

The panel is close to completion as of the bottom Right photograph, though minor corrections in both the paint and gilt layers are planned.
